Today's loop

Learn → recall without notes → solve → submit or check → explain → repair → retest. Use a notebook for working. The page is a guide, not a substitute for a full syllabus or an official question paper.

Four subject capsules

Physics

  • Draw a free-body diagram before writing ΣF = ma.
  • Work by a constant force is W = Fs cosθ; kinetic energy is ½mv² and gravitational potential energy near Earth is mgh.
  • Energy is transferred, not created by a machine. State the system and track input, output and loss.

Chemistry

  • Use molar mass and the balanced equation as separate steps.
  • For gases, distinguish pressure, volume, temperature and amount; convert units before substitution.
  • Percentage yield compares actual yield with theoretical yield; it is not the same as percentage purity.

Higher Mathematics

  • Apply d(xⁿ)/dx = nxⁿ⁻¹ and the constant, sum and difference rules.
  • For products and quotients, identify the rule before expanding.
  • A derivative can locate a stationary point; classification requires a sign or second-derivative check.

Biology

  • Mitosis produces genetically similar daughter cells for growth and repair.
  • Meiosis includes two divisions and reduces chromosome number; crossing over occurs in prophase I.
  • Keep chromosome, chromatid, homologous pair and sister chromatid as distinct terms.

Recall without notes

  1. What is the difference between net force and one applied force?
  2. State the relationship between actual and theoretical yield.
  3. Differentiate (2x + 1)(x² − 3) using a chosen method.
  4. Why does meiosis support variation as well as chromosome-number reduction?

Practice and application

  1. Complete one force diagram, one work–energy calculation and one conservation-of-energy explanation.
  2. Solve two gas or stoichiometry calculations with units shown.
  3. Differentiate one product, one quotient and one composite expression.
  4. Draw the sequence of mitosis and meiosis with chromosome-number notes.

Assessment / output

DU-style mixed practice in the sense of reasoning format only; Formula Sheet v1 corrected after errors.
